It’s important to be prepared for weather changes - it can change fast here in the Arctic! Ensure you are warm enough and bring a waterproof layer and wear good, comfortable shoes. Be sure to bring your camera and any accessories you want to use with it - we will put you in front of some of the most epic views in Lofoten! Bring water and a snack to keep you going.

Each tour has instructions for the pick-up time and location. Be sure to keep an eye on the e-mail address and phone number you provided us when you booked in case of any changes. We can collect you at your hotel in Svolvær - just let us know which one. If you’re not staying in Svolvær we‘ll meet you at Svinøya Rorbuer.

We don’t offer a wildlife tour or moose safari as a standard option because on all our tours we stand a reasonable chance of seeing wildlife including Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles, Moose, Foxes, and other animals, but when specifically looking for them it’s a game of chance. If you’re a wildlife photographer and would like to book a custom tour with a local wildlife photographer, that can be arranged.

The aurora is something we see almost every night here in Lofoten because we’re perfectly positioned in the Auroral Oval, meaning we can see every strength of the aurora from north to south. The weather is a factor but our guides have an intimate knowledge of the weather systems and patterns in Lofoten so you are in good hands. Aside from the weather, it’s al down to solar activity and our geomagnetic field, but as we approach Solar Maximum (2024-2025) the activity levels are generally high.
